Computers Blog Will Microsoft be on time to deliver Windows 8?
Microsoft's newest version of its flagship product, the Windows 8, was well received when it was demoed for 2 hours during Microsoft's BUILD Conference. It's a promising product from Microsoft, and definitely will shake the competition and bring to a different level, specially in the tablet, where Windows 8 is specially catered for with its Metro interface. That market category is currently being lead by Apple and its iPad tablet. But there's this one question that bothers me and possibly a lot others. When will Microsoft really ship Windows 8? That question for me is vital considering the fact that Microsoft has this reputation of being late from their schedule. And disregarding that fact, a more interesting argument looms in the idea of Microsoft shipping Windows 8 late enough for its competitors to come up with something more interesting. Because currently, the hottest anticipated product debut is of course Windows 8, and I would die to have one had it been release today. And as much as I hate to quote rumors, Microsoft has not announced any release date for Windows 8, and so we are left to assume that if rumors were right, it will make its market entry late in 2012. And I sure know if Microsoft release Win 8 later than that, rival companies will make fun of them with their own products that can compete with it. Of course Microsoft should not rush things up just so they can deliver on time. It should not compromise the usability and quality of their product, but still, time is of the essence.
